Example: Should I continue this project or quit?
The Conflict
I started a project, but now it feels difficult. Progress is slower than expected, and I am unsure whether to continue or quit.
Part of me thinks the project still matters. Another part wants to escape the pressure.
Separate Fear from Clear Judgment
Ask:
- Do I want to quit because the direction is wrong?
- Or do I want to quit because I feel slow, exposed, or afraid of failure?
- If no one could judge this project, would I still continue?
- Does this project still connect to my long-term goal?
Fear often asks for a new direction before the current lesson is learned.
Use Real Situations as Training
This project can train:
- clearer thinking
- better writing
- product judgment
- consistency
- public communication
- tolerance for slow progress
The difficulty may be part of the practice, not a sign that the project is meaningless.
Practical Next Step
Do not decide the entire future of the project today.
Instead, define one small version:
- What is the next visible improvement?
- Can I complete it in 30 minutes?
- What evidence will show progress?
Today, complete one small improvement and decide again after you have new evidence.
